Every year, over 2,000 children and adults with disabilities rely on the vital services provided by St. Michael's House. Donabate Respite Service 1
Building a Space Where Every Child Can Play and Belong
We were delighted to welcome Katie Cummins from Progressive Credit Union to our Donabate Respite Service to see the incredible progress that has been made since Progressive Credit Union made their generous donation towards our new play and sensory area.
The Donabate Respite Service plays a vital role for families of children with disabilities and additional needs, offering essential respite care that gives parents and carers a well-deserved break while ensuring children have a safe, joyful, and engaging environment.
Thanks to the wonderful support of Progressive Credit Union, we’ve been able to begin transforming our outdoor area into a vibrant, inclusive space where play, imagination, and sensory exploration come to life. Their generosity has helped us lay the foundation for a place where children can laugh, learn, and connect — regardless of ability.
This marks the first stage of our project, and as you can see from the photos, the transformation is well underway. With playful sensory features, this new outdoor space is becoming a haven of joy for the children who use our service.
We are deeply grateful to Progressive Credit Union for helping us take this important step. Together, alongside St. Michael’s House Foundation, we are helping St. Michael’s House create a future filled with inclusion, creativity, and community spirit.

2024 has been a transformative year for St. Michael’s House Foundation. The creation and official launch of the Foundation marked a significant milestone, establishing a dedicated team committed to advancing our mission of supporting a society where individuals of every ability can thrive.
Our first year has been marked by incredible fundraising successes. Hundreds of supporters joined us in events ranging from the Mini Marathon and Golf Classics to exhilarating abseils. These efforts have directly contributed to securing essential funding for impactful projects, including state-of-the-art playground equipment for respite services, new vehicles to improve accessibility, and many other vital initiatives.
The Foundation’s growth and achievements in 2024 have laid a strong foundation for future success. With momentum building, we are excited to continue expanding our reach, enhancing services, and empowering our community in 2025 and beyond. This year has proven what we can accomplish together, and we look forward to an even brighter future.
