Tackle the Tower is a thrilling charity abseil event where participants will descend 190ft down Smithfield Tower to raise vital funds for St. Michael’s House Foundation.

The event will take place on Saturday, 29th March 2025, at Smithfield Tower, Dublin.

 

Who can take part?

Participants must be over 17 years old and in good health. No prior abseiling experience is needed, as full training and safety support will be provided on the day.

How do I sign up?

Is there a registration fee?

Yes, as spaces are limited, there is a €25.00 registration fee. Once signed up, participants must commit to raising a minimum of €475.00 for St. Michael’s House Foundation.

 

How can I raise the €475.00 fundraising target?

We recommend using a combination of online fundraising, corporate sponsorship, and community support. You can contact us anytime for tips and suggestions to help you reach your goal.

 

Can I take part as a team?

Yes! You can sign up as an individual or as part of a team. Teams can support each other in reaching their fundraising targets and take on the challenge together.

 

On the Day

What time should I arrive?

You will be given a designated time slot closer to the event. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your allocated time for check-in and safety briefing.

 

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and secure footwear (e.g. runners or hiking boots). Avoid loose items like scarves or jewellery. Safety gear, including a harness and helmet, will be provided.

 

Is the event safe?

Yes! The abseil is organised by qualified professionals who will provide full training and ensure all safety measures are followed.

 

Can my family and friends watch?

Yes! Spectators are welcome to cheer you on from designated viewing areas.

 

Will there be photography?

Yes, we will have event photographers capturing the action. Photos may be used for promotional purposes, but if you’d prefer not to be included, please let us know in advance.

 

Post-Event

Will I receive a medal or certificate?

Yes! Every participant who completes the challenge will receive a special medal as a token of our appreciation.

 

Will there be a goody bag?

Yes, all participants will receive a goody bag.

 

How will my fundraising help?
